Giuseppe Verdi was a frequent visitor to the baths and was an honoured guest, besides at Montecatini, at Salsomaggiore and Tabiano. The thermal spas gave beneficial treatment to the body while at the same time providing a particularly dynamic social life, animated by the presence of illustrious guests, politicians and kings, members of the aristocracy and of high finance, the theatre and the arts.
